ABOUT US

Behind this social enterprise are two fun-loving, inquisitive creatives who combine a passion for spreadsheets and building a world of accessible learning across the entire community.

We love creating spaces where dialogue and diversity go hand in hand, across different backgrounds and individual stories–where empathy is the glue that unites people from all walks of life–a value that we share from traveling the big wide world.

Meet The Directors

  • Sekki Tabasuares

Sekki incorporated the social enterprise Stand Tall Improv CIC in 2022 to reach out to her new community. With over 7 years of facilitation experience in Communication and Culture Training, she envisioned a learner-centric, immersive approach of infusing dynamic learning environments with applied improvisational theatre in both the corporate setting and local outreach projects. In the Philippines, she ran workshops on the importance of articulate communication in the ecotourism industry. In Cyprus, she was part of a mechanism that built a network of safehouses, helping to run vocational sessions that fostered camaraderie between survivors of human trafficking in the areas around Larnaca and Nicosia.

With training rooted in the social sciences, she is a firm believer that a community benefits from the earnest desire of its members to include everybody in an open dialogue despite the difference in cultures, ages and disposition. She combines a love for the arts with facilitating sessions that encourage spontaneity, authentic passion, and genuine impact through self expression. As an immigrant in the UK, she understands how a sense of social responsibility is the best way to establish a meaningful connection with people no matter where they come from.

  • Steve Green

Steve brings over 25 years of international experience as a facilitator, quickly forming the other half of Stand Tall Improv CIC’s directorship ever since the company launched its first few projects in 2022. His work spans schools, councils, government departments, and global organisations, delivering impactful training for adults and young people. Specialising in communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution, his commitment to fostering understanding and collaboration has led him to design and deliver residential training programs worldwide.

Steve discovered improv after graduating from LIPA, developing a passion for creativity and spontaneity that has shaped his approach ever since. In 2008, he trained formally with the Spontaneity Shop in London, refining his skills and integrating them into his professional work. His career includes roles such as a trainer for Apple UK, where he designed staff development programs and led technology workshops. He has also worked on international initiatives with organisations like the British Council, The Citizenship Foundation, and the National Communities Resource Centre, contributing to community-building efforts in Northern Ireland, Albania, Tanzania, and Malawi, with a focus on citizenship, collaboration, and teamwork.

Steve is also the director of Caffi Isa CIC, a local arts and community centre in North Wales UK, where he focuses on strategy and development. Through his production company, The Broadcast Studios, he brings international literature to the stage, reflecting his passion for storytelling and creativity. With a learner-centered approach, Steve creates supportive spaces for people to develop their skills, confidence, and ability to connect.
